I listened to the Clarkson-Cornell game on the radio Saturday afternoon.
It seems that Clarkson finally got the team up to championship speed.
The team played a solid three periods of hockey against a good team. It
does seem that Parris Duffus will anchor the Cornell defense. He made
some big saves during the game to keep the score lower than it could have
been. Clarkson did get itself into some penalty trouble but was able to
withstand the pressure. Rogles had to play just as well as Duffus.
Clarkson will have to watch their penalty taking at UNH (I just read the
UNH-BU game recap.) Clarkson's power play is still struggling, but Cornell
is a good defensive team. SLU was 0-fer on the pp as well. I wonder how
well the league's teams are doing on te power play this year? I think that
penalty killing is really being emphasized.

Clarkson will need a similar effort this coming Sat. at UNH. This should be
one of the toughest games for Clarkson this regular season, amybe an exception
to the SLU game. It will go along way in deciding NC$% play-off opportunities.

About Vermont wanting to secede from the Union: Actually, Vermont is a
Republic. They are just part of the US because it's beneficial. When one
registers to vote in Vermont, one has to take the Freeman's Oath because it
is a Republic. Vermont's always been politically eclectic (Join the College
Hockey Discussion List and IMPROVE your volcabulary), i.e.; Bernie
Sanders- Socialist US Senator.
