Hello everyone,

We'd be happy to submit a proposal from FAME. Given the work we do, is there anything in particular that would be helpful for us to focus on?

Thank you,

Mila Tappan

Subject: Re: More 2018 MEEOA Conference Updates!

Hi Darylen (and membership),
Thank you for giving voice to some great questions! Terri and I had thought a general "wellness" theme may be a good direction for the conference (we are looking for conference title ideas as well). We are thinking in terms of wellness for students, fellow staff members, and of course-ourselves!

On that note, some workshops/topics that were suggested by the MEEOA membership in our survey include:
-getting rid of cliques in the workplace -having difficult conversations with coworkers, employees, and supervisors -how to motivate students to apply to scholarships -improving the TRIO pipeline

Some proposals we have already received (or have been brought to us as an
idea) include topics such as:
-self-care
-"Hope is not an Emotion: Understanding the Cognitive Process and How to Build its Capacity"
-a workshop on working with trans students -financial literacy

If there are any thoughts on workshops, please send them our way! In case anyone did not receive the workshop proposal form, I have attached it again here <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfQKx9Oo-8TWiizcNSQyJvvC9GiqSoGcG1rP8p_NvmfjpT0Nw/viewform?usp=sf_link>
.

Thank you!
