To go along with some of the recent talk of former college players in the
NHL here is an interenting tidbit I picked up about a possiblity for one
University of Michigan player.
 
> Interesting timing with the Knuble thread.  Today's Ann Arbor News mentions
> that the Wings are extremely anxious to sign Michigan Wolverine right winger
> Mike Knuble to a contract after the Maize and Blue skaters finish their quest
> for the CCHA and NCAA playoff championships.  Under a headline "Wings want
> U-M's Knuble for NHL stretch run", the article by Chuck Carlton quotes Scotty
> Bowman as saying "We liked him last year, but he went back to finish
> school...I think he can really help us."  Bowman indicated that if Knuble
> signs a contract, he would be assessed in Detroit, and not Adirondack.
