PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Providence College men’s hockey team is ranked No. 8 
in the nation, according to the latest US College Hockey Online Poll 
released on Monday, November 20, 2000.   The sqaud is ranked ninth, 
according to the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine  Coaches Poll.
         The 7-2-1 Friars posted a 2-0-0 record last week. On November 17, 
PC defeated then 10th-ranked Northeastern, 3-1, at Schneider Arena.  On 
November 18, the Friars defeated the Huskies, 4-2, at Matthews in Boston, Mass.
         Last weekend, senior J.J. Picnic led the Friars offensively, 
registering three goals and two assists in two games.  For his efforts he 
was named HOCKEY EAST player of the week.  Sophomore Nolan Schaefer and 
senior Boyd Ballard have shared the Friars’ goaltending duties.  This 
season, the duo have combined for a 2.08 goals against average and a .938 
save percentage.
         The Friars will return to action Friday, November 24 at 
ninth-ranked Colorado College at 9:30 p.m. (EST)  On Saturday, November 25, 
PC will travel to Denver's Magness Arena for the second game of their road 
trip.
