While I'm not upset at the idea of more home games for the Big Red,
especially against nonconference foes, I am rather dissappointed in the
strength of the schedule. Games against 3 of the top six teams in the
country last year provided the Red with the strength of schedule to be in
position to contend for an NCAA bid without winning the ECAC tournament,
whereas this year's schedule (no offense meant to fans of Ferris State or
the Redskins) does not provide that opportunity.

Having played the away game at BU last year, I was expecting a
reciprocating game at Lynah this year, but it does not appear on the
schedule. Does anybody know why this is so? Was this a game we had to
give up to play Ferris State twice? And I only count 28 games, unless the
Ivy League counts both tournament games, in which case I do get 29. Does
the Ivy league not follow the NCAA convention of counting a tournament as
only one game? Finally, (no offense meant to Mike Machnick or any other
Merrimack fans) but Merrimack is a step down from last years first round
tourny game against CC. I'd rather see us play top rate competition and
gain the experience than play teams which aren't as good, but which have a
reputation for beating top teams. But a potential third game against
Colgate looks like a lot of fun. 3 games in one month against your travel
partner would certainly intensify an already building rivalry. I can hear
the chants for Weder already starting.

I'm looking forward very much to going to Ann Arbor and invading
Yost as was done by Cornellians in '91. The stories I've heard are
incredible and I intend to experience the thrills firsthand. See all you
Michigan fans there.
