*What is happening? *

  On Wednesday, October, 31, 2018, from 5 a.m. - 6 a.m., US:IT Staff will
be reattempting an upgrade on a portion of the UMS Single Sign-On system.

The actual downtime during the maintenance window is expected to be less
than 5 minutes, with the remainder of the time being reserved for testing
and verification to ensure that the change is successful.

During this work, there may be issues logging into Box, Zoom, and other
SAML or InCommon services.

  * Existing sessions to these applications should not be disrupted. In
addition, this maintenance work will not impact access to Blackboard,
GMail, MaineStreet, MyCampus Portal or other services using the CAS
protocol for single sign-on.*

*Why is this work necessary? *

This work is required for better SAML single sign-on compatibility with
IT services used throughout the University of Maine System, and is the
second milestone in a series of updates that will allow our Single Sign-on
system to support additional web applications.

*What happens if the work is not successful? *

We were able to work with vendor support staff to test and validate the
remaining issue during our last attempt, so we are expecting no issues
during this attempt. However, if there are major issues during the upgrade
or the testing and verification processes, we will rollback to the version
currently in use, resolve the issues, and reschedule the work for a future
date.

If you experience any issues with the UMS Single Sign-On system after the
upgrade, please clear your browser cache and try again. For additional
support, please contact IT Support Services at 800.696.4357 or by email:
