One volume would not be very handy.

"A Companion to The Cantos of Ezra Pound" by Carroll Terrell is essential.
Terrell not only suggests background reading for each Canto but also
provides references to exegesis for most.  I find "Pound's Cantos" by Peter
Makin useful but no one author is going to fully address each Canto to your
satisfaction.
