Dan and I read about Brendan's signing while eating breakfast at a
McDonalds outside of Buffalo, NY. Good luck to him and Cory.

You may ask what we were doing at a McDonalds outside of Buffalo - we were
on our Baseball adventure which took us to Montreal (2 games), Toronto (3
games), Cleveland (3 innings of a rained out game - but we DID get to see
the Jake), and Pittsburgh (1 game). If you're ever in Toronto, be sure to
visit the Hockey Hall of Fame. It's a wonderful place that is not to be
missed!!

Dan and I are pleased to report that the University of Maine program is
well represented at the HHF. Right as you enter the building there is an
exhibit of memorabilia from championships of 1999 -- this included a
University of Maine hockey shirt (they said it was a practice jersey worn
by several players) and a puck used by alum Chris Ferraro in the AHL
All-Star game. In another area, they also have one of Paul Kariya's shirts
from the '92-93 season, and the stick that Marcus Gustafsson used to score
the winning goal against UNH. There are also a couple of shirts/pucks/etc
used by various Maine alumni in their professional careers. The only UNH
memorabilia we saw was a shirt from one of the members of the championship
women's team. Other than the Maine memorabilia, one of my favorite places
was the TSN exhibit where you could call a famous play (like Bobby Orr's
winning goal in the 1970 series).

Canada is a hockey fan's paradise. Where else could a junior hockey
tournament or a Stanley Cup game beat the Blue Jay's come from behind
victory over the Red Sox as the lead story in their sports broadcast!!!
