Hi, I'm new here, but a couple of days ago I downloaded all of LISTSERV's
archives since 1995, right now I reading March of 1997 where the discussion
swerves away from Pound and pop music (Beatles, Dylan, Ginsberg and the
like) to Pound and pop media (books, plays, movies). . . and at the risk of
having too much fun, a similarity occured to me last night that I thought
only you folks could enjoy — kind of along the lines of the Oz/Dark Side but
nowhere near as affective.
Has anyone noticed the similarity between the plot of the movie "The Wall"
(e. g. Pink's obsessive "modern" fork and chicken-bone art, fall from
popularism to vocal extremism, the elements of imprisonment and of trial and
then that slight blurb at the end about the "bleeding hearts and artists
making there stand") vs. events of real-life Pound?
 
Otherwise I just started Hugh Kenner's "The Pound Era" and am finding it
interesting.  I'm starting some preliminary research on a thesis involving
Pound.
