But how can you possibly say:
 
        "The academic world is the only refuge left."
 
as if many in this world at this time are not building other options,
other stances, other communities, outside the academia...
 
but perhaps the word "refuge" is telling, to be an intellectual is not
necessarily to find "refuge".
