You can read everything about "the castle" in Mary's own biography,
"Discretions". I've always thought that these particular biographical details
were pretty clear. That he went to Brunnenburg after his return from St. Liz,
stayed there for some time but left for Venice ("the hidden nest") AND Sant'
Ambrogio ("la salita"). It's ALL in Mary's book.
