tim,
   much more.
...kinda the confidence game from hell.
and as i've said before,
the battle over this turf is the determining
historico-cultural event
(the ligitimation myth for the merkan imperium)
of the living history of our time.
... major league stuff, eh
(meat for adorno's, schmitt's, ...n'all),
but fer our purposes,
ep & his sitz im leben,
we gotta make a stab at insight...don't we?

so...
first criminality:
commonly state criminality is just a function of relative power,
the condition of being beyond the reach of sanction;
"power corrupts...n'all dat shit,
and so just a red-herring in estimating the
relative merits of the liberal vs corporatist state.

2) obviously, in re hitler, mussolini
(and o course stalin in spades...)
a set of very well recognized objective conditions,
ww1 & great depression...
(things to be laid to bourgeois liberal imperial competition, btw),
not fascism,
is easily sufficient to explain
the sociopathic component, no?
don't think you can say either of them was corrupt...?

yet even weighing the thing,
state criminality, straight up, in isolation,
the dialectic btween the individualist-
and corporatist-ascendancy state
does not really show to the advantage of the former.

just consider, despite our near total liberation from
pre-enlightenment cultural baggage,
symbols/myths/rituals
(so much that a middle-merkan tribune can
blandly assert, "religion's a crutch for weak-minded people"),
...all that blood & soil fascist, corporate ethos stuff,
so anathema to aclu types,
(the source, we are told, of race criminality),
...despite all that:
race hatred is vastly more popular in merka today
than was anti-semitism in germany during nazi period
where it was almost exclusively a ss/party-line phenomenon.

and the net is similar on t'other "humanity" heads:
... the moral trivialization of wholesale human killing,
abortion to nukes, waco to cluster-bombing helpless iraqi conscripts,
all stunningly free of compunctious visitings.
the nazis had to keep theirs top secret, no?

totalitarianism?
can police terror even begin to compare
with the social tracking/engineering technic
of bourgeois lib social sciences?
only consider the ease and speed with which they
jingoed us morons into bombing nazi serbia...
serbia...fer chrissake!

nso on...

anyway:
liberalism says that the positive sciences
offer the best chance of optimizing pleasurable human existence.
fascism sez tradition is the essence of humane existence.

for ep and (presumably) us,
this is a no-brain'r, eh?
so... there's the measure of the polemical speciousness
required to sustain the permissable framework of discourse
on this issue.

and, as a vulgar practical matter...where d'rubber meets...etc.,
the holocaust industry has a monopoly
...like gates in his dreams.
how many fellowships d'ya spose there were this yr past
fer pro nazi/fascist projects?

if ya give a try at seeing the world thru ep's
or heid's eyes, the thing 's gotta be took serious.
...much more than a sillyness, a vain susceptibility
to the charms of il duce
...or crackpot pre-raphaelite nostalgia,
...reactionary delusionalism,
...n'all dat .

what do you think, tim?
is it or no, at the essence?
does ep's poetic heart really beat to the strains of
jeffersonian, yeoman republicanism
(and its legion slaves for the work, o'course)
or bonapartist fascism and its citoyens?

thanks
bob

Bob,
Are you saying that the debate is staged so as to suppress discussion of any
meritorious aspects of fascist ideologies and agendas? That the way the
questions themselves are framed amounts to a tacit suppression of
pro-Fascist opinion because Fascism(s) is/are perceived to be inseparable
from tryannical oppression of dissent and race hatred? That some subjects
have been banned from the stage, and that others are allowed on stage only
if they appear in villain's garb?
