There's a lot to report this week. Here we go:

* MONOLOGUE NIGHT will be held Monday, November 3rd at 7:30PM in rooms #403/404. Sponsored by the DRA 151, Play Production course under the direction of the illustrious Jon Potter. Bring your family and friends.

* The STUDENT ASSOCIATION will have its next meeting on Friday, November 7th, at 11:30AM in room #412. This is the group that decides how to spend the activity fees generated by URock students. All welcome.

* Please remember to bring in some non-perishables for the FOOD DRIVE and deposit them in the barrel in the student lounge. The barrel will be collected on November 15th and delivered to the soup kitchen. Let's fill it up!

* Two AUGUSTA FACULTY will be helping Beverly and me with ACADEMIC ADVISING as we get ready for the spring term. Prof. Charlie Grunder will be available to see students in the Mental Health and Human Service Program. He is here at URock on Tuesdays. In addition, Prof. Ellen Taylor will be available on Wednesdays before and after her 10:00AM class for students in the BA in English degree. Please take advantage of their availability and book appointments through the URock front office.

* PRE-REGISTRATION for the spring term opens in the following way:
For students with 60 or more credit hours, self-service in Maine Street opens Saturday, November 8th at 6:00AM and is ongoing. For those with fewer than 60 credit hours, self-service opens at 2:00PM on the 8th and is on-going. On November 10th (for degree students) and November 14th (for non-degree), University staff will be able to accept registrations. You can actually go into Maine Street now under self-service, log in and create your "wish list" of courses. Then, when registration opens, you just hit "submit". Front office staff are available to help you with Maine Street functions if need be.

* URock is getting ready to start UMA's HONORS PROGRAM locally. The Honors Program offers those students who have demonstrated intellectual potential and personal commitment an enriched academic experience. The Honors Program is not a separate degree program, but is designed to augment the course work required for a degree. In most cases, Honors courses can be substituted for required or elective credits. Stay tuned for details about an upcoming orientation about the Honors Program here at URock with Prof. Jon Schlenker on Thursday, December 4th.
