Correction to my earlier post...

The height of the nastiness and the injury to Ayers were in the
second period--I guess the adrenaline and the excitement of the
win made me lose all sense of chronology!

And this just in...Ayers suffered a severed tendon in his wrist
(somebody stepped on him in a scrum near the net) and was taken
to Eastern Maine Medical Center for treatment. Best wishes to
him for a swift recovery!
