Dear Poundians, I thought that some of you might be interested in participating in this conference on Neo-Platonism, to be held a the University of Maine next June.  Perhaps we could assemble a panel on Pound and Neo-Platonism.  If you are

Center presents a Conference on Platonism, Neoplatonism and
Literature at ORONO, Maine June 27-July 1, 2002.

Call for papers:

Platonism and Neoplatonism have had a vast influence on philosophy,
literature
and the arts from antiquity to the present, as philosophy, as
mystical theology, as aesthetic doctrine & inspiration. The
conference welcomes papers on all facets of Platonism and
Neoplatonism.  Topics include:

Platonism and Neoplatonism and the literatures of Europe and America
Platonism and Neoplatonism and Jewish and Islamic literature
Platonism and Neoplatonism and Eastern Europe and Russian
Platonism and Neoplatonism and the East
Gnosticism, Hermeticism, and other esoteric literature ("Platonic
Underworld")
Ancient Greek Neoplatonic philosophy
Latin Neoplatonic philosophy
Renaissance Neoplatonic philosophy
Art & Psychology Influenced by Platonism/Neoplatonism
Cosmology & music influenced by Neoplatonism/Pythagoreanism
