Hi all -- Thought I'd share the following with you, even though it's not
hockey related. It does, however, prove that the powers that be at the
NC$$ really need to get a life. They could probably find five thousand
other violations at UNLV, but I think the following is a bit much (and it
gave me a chuckle):

>UNLV PLAYER INELIGIBLE PENDING NCAA PROBE
>
>LAS VEGAS (AP) - UNLV junior forward Chris Richardson could miss
>the season after an NCAA ruling that he misled investigators
>about the purchase of a used mattress set. Richardson, who scored
>16 points this week in UNLV's first exhibition game, will not be
>eligible to play until his case is appealed, school officials
>said Thursday. The NCAA sent UNLV a letter Wednesday saying the
>Committee on Infractions found that Richardson violated NCAA
>regulations when questioned about the mattress set during an
>investigation of alleged violations by UNLV. When questioned in
>January, Richardson told the NCAA his mother paid $150 to $300 to
>an assistant coach for the mattress and box springs. Richardson
>averaged 4.6 points and 3.0 rebounds last season.
