Of course they are, to the only ears that listen... each others. Limitations
are put in place by institutions/coaches for the purpose of administering
restrictions that work in the favor of the sponsoring institution. The
players are the powerless group, indentured gladiators sort of. Minus the
education, they'd be close to as powerless as wrestlers. No union.

Players would love to be able to switch schools, as coaches do, without the
year long waiting period before they resume play. Certainly, recruitment
restrictions, more still, policies toward on-campus associations with local
supporters as host families in no way is supportive of players. For the
experience of playing, they sign away their rights.

As professionals they play a "legal" game off the ice. Then they have an
agent to handle it. By far, their biggest headache will be staying injury
free. Berard, young in his career is retiring due to eye injury; Lindros,
already with three concussions under his belt suffered a recent grade 2
concussion that left him looking like a stroke victim; and of course most
recently Gary Galley of LA Kings fame retired after a long career from his
fifth serious concussion.

Screw the imposed limitations, player health is the major concern.
