Mes Chers Poundistes,

May I recommend the article by Ahuvia Kahane "Blood for Ghosts? Homer,
Ezra Pound and Julius Africanus" in the current NEW LITERARY HISTORY, Autumn
1999, 30(4), pp 815-836...?

Kahane suggests that Africanus' "Kestoi", a fragment of which was first
identified in 1903, might be an unacknowledged source for Canto 1, as well
as the declared sources of Andreas Divus' 1538 translation of the Odyssey,
and Homer himself.

Cheers John Makin, Nottingham Trent University, UK.
