Don't be so sure of that! In the business section of today's Boston Herald, http://www.businesstoday.com/topstories/wabu05061999.htm, they tell a completely different story, with people having to interview for their present jobs. The folks who own Paxson Communications have no knowledge of the Beanpot tradition, and probably don't really care, either (they are from West Palm Beach, FL). There is no guarantee that the present employees will remain at WABU, according to this report. I have my doubts that college hockey will survive on WABU if the new owners show no interest in any local programming. It would be up to other outlets (Fox Sports Net, NESN) to pick up the slack, if they so desire and if it fits into their plans. If these outlets think they can get decent ratings, they will pick it up. Just my opinion: Linda Harrison HOCKEY-L is for discussion of college ice hockey; send information to [log in to unmask], The College Hockey Information List.
