(Sorry to disturb the list with this off-topic blip: I haven't received
anything from the Pound list in two days, and am hypersensitive to prolonged
silence now after the previous month's paralysis. I just wanted to see if
there is still a server hitch or whether the change in season has induced a
general digital laryngitis.)
