Regarding who is still D-2, but on probation, and who is not -- in response to a post on HOCKEY3, but of interest to others as well. Quinnipiac only did one year of D-2 to D-1 probation which I believe finishes in a few days. They received a waiver of the second year from the NC$$, and will be full-fledged D-1 this summer in all sports. I do not know if going D-1 in all sports (rather than only hockey) facilitated the waiver or not. I do know they had to jump through several extra hoops to get it. I suspect that having a very strong plan and gender equity from the get-go probably is what the NC$$ was looking for. -- Dick Tuthill HOCKEY-L is for discussion of college ice hockey; send information to [log in to unmask], The College Hockey Information List.
