Heather, I don't know if I was more impressed or dumbfounded. As an avid Lowell fan, I was pumped to see them totally dominate the Huskies. Lowell looks incredibly strong in its last several games and it'll take teams that are on top of their game ... like BC was ... to beat them if they continue to play like this. Lowell's defense looked great ... very often keeping the shots from reaching Fillion. It was a physical game but not as much as I had suspected. Both teams can dish it out so maybe there was a respect there.... Northeastern did seem to pick up their physical play a bit more once the game was out of reach. I was surprised to see the Huskies look so poorly. Robitaille wasn't awful or anything, but he didn't look very strong either. Basaraba's goal so early in the first was the result of a good hard shot at the five hole and his shorthanded goal to end the period was also stoppable but the result of great tenacity and follow through. The Huskies are incredibly young and maybe this was simply playoff jitters...or maybe a slumping Robitaille is an indication of how strongly Northeastern rode his back all year. Did anyone who saw the game see anything lacking in the play of Koehler. It seemed he was really dogging it at times. Fillion wasn't really tested, was he. He did look real good though when he was called on. The first goal was really suspect ... being from so far out. He must have been out of position or just started moving too late. The second goal was surprsing too because it certainly sounded like he made the save. The thunk of the puck off the pads certainly sounded safe...I was surprised to see it made it through the net...which I couldn't see from my seat right behind the shooter Newson. I was baffled my the poor attendance although it gave me free reign of front row balcony seats... :) I love the balcony view at this rink.
