Doug Garn: >>Heres to PPV failure. Adam Wodon: >Why is it a failure? Did you get the games last year? This year, more >people have the option --- not everyone, but many more. Greenie: >And people are COMPLAINING about the PPV package? >30 bucks and I'm absolutely guaranteed to see EVERY game. Didn't have to >come home from work early today (for OSU-Yale) only to see some fishing >show instead. It's undoubtedly a better situation for people with mini-dishes, but as I've observed elsewhere, it kind of screws up the sports bar option for those of us without them. (And I won't bring up the fact that half the games were on espn2 a few years ago--oops, I just did.) I'm not sure exactly what feedback to give the NCAA on the PPV experiment. If the PPV were available on a cable systems across the country (not to mention Primestar--boy would I be pissed if I subscribed to them) it would be a good deal, except for people who rely on C-Band satellites. OTOH, I hope this doesn't put us on a slippery slope which ends in having to spend $75 to see the Frozen Four.
