>BTW Ed, I know that the don't play football but, do Cambridge and Oxford >have hockey teams? I'm not Ed, but I'll take this one, as I happen to know the goalie for the Cambridge Blues. He's a doctoral student (from Vancouver) under Stephen Hawking, who dropped the ceremonial puck at the Oxford-Cambrdge match last year. (There's a great story behind that; perhaps I can get his graduate assistant at the time to tell it.) Oxford won, I believe 5-2, and Chris was greeted with chants of "SIEVE!" the next time he turned up at the Department of Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics. (I told some of his mates the Black Hole cheer in the local pub on a visit this summer, and they were duly appreciative.) Oh, and Oxford and Cambridge play several kinds of football: Association, Rugby Union... I'm not sure about Rugby League, which is the English attempt to emulate the American game.
