comments on the game from a UM fan and a CCHA fan

Michigan played much stronger this weekend against both Minn and Wisc than I
would have ever hoped for. I thought we would go 1-1 and we win both.

On Sunday afternoon, Michigan came out as strong as I've seen them this year,
had 15 shots on goal the first 16 minutes, led 1-0 and looked like it would
be 3-0, 4-1 type of game. Wisc scored before the end of the period and the
game turned almost dead even from that point on. After 15 SOG in the first
16 minutes, Mich only had 14 more the next 44 minutes. Wisc outshot Mich by
one shot in the second and by one again in the third. Wisc came VERY close to
scoring twice in the last couple of minutes but Turco played spectacular
again. Someone may need to correct me, but Minn/Wisc may have only scored
short-handed all weekend, which led me to say during the second game that our
(MICH) penalty killing sucked.

Muckalt played another great game and if there is any other forward in
college hockey playing better than him, tell me about him. Billy leads the
nation in returning scorers and leads the nation in goals scored this year.
He hits people very hard, no one skates faster, and the whole team looks to
Billy to lead them.

I seem to remember people saying the CCHA was a weak sister this year.
MSU/UM took on WI/MN and won all of the games. The CCHA is always better
than most of the nation realize or give us credit for. I think the CCHA has
won half of the last 6 national championships.
