As to Long Island hockey- Chris & Peter both played as Mites for Suffolk PAL and one year as underage Pee Wees. They then left the Island to play for the Little Flyers as 2nd year squirts. Present '97-'98 Army Hockey Captain- Tony DeFelice is a native of Queens, NY and thus a Long Islander. --------------------- Forwarded message: From: [log in to unmask] (Adam Wodon) Sender: [log in to unmask] (College Hockey Information list - Information postings only) Reply-to: [log in to unmask] (Adam Wodon) To: [log in to unmask] Date: 97-10-03 10:24:04 EDT > 6 Marty Hughes Fr D 5-10 176 L Lawrence Acad. Hicksville, NY > 7 Rob Scuderi Fr D 6-1 194 L St. Anthony's Bethpage, NY WOW! 2 players from Long Island. LI hockey has sure come a long way .... especially, if this is correct, that this guy Scuderi played at St. Anthony's -- which is a Long Island catholic school -- consistently been the best LI high school team -- but that was never saying much -- would regularly get pummeled in the state playoffs ... but recently they've actually won games in the states, as had my old high school, in years we've managed to beat St. Anthony's for the LI title. And in fact, I just noticed that a player from my old HS worked his way through the minors the last 5 years and was in the camp of Fort Wayne in the IHL. Simply played LI HS hockey, and D-III somewhere. Absolutely amazing if you know the level of play there when I was going to school. But the amount of rinks on LI have increased 15 times over since then -- which is the key. Does anyone care? Just thought I'd share that. The Ferraro's, by the way, don't count. They never played a day of hockey on LI. AW INFO-HOCKEY-L is for information only; send any discussion of this article to [log in to unmask], The College Hockey Discussion List.
