Paul Gentile rambles: >Paul's Pre-Season College Hockey National Rankings. >#1 Maine >#2 MIchigan >#3 BU >#4 UNH >#5 Minnesota >#6 Denver >#7 Lowell (Picked for last place by HockeyEast Coaches) >#8 Mich. State >#9 N. Dakota >#10 Boston College >(also receiving votes Merrimack, LSSU, Vermont, Providence, Clarkson) Brian Helland counters: >it's obvious that you have a pro-east, anti-WCHA slant in your poll. >Only 3 WCHA teams in the Top 10? Make that a pro-HockeyEast slant. Paul put *no* ECAC teams in his Top Ten. Clarkson was #2 for most of the latter part of the season, and even without Todd White, I think they'll wait until the postseason to choke. Actually, I laughed out loud to see Vermont ranked as high as an also-ran. Thomas, St. Louis and Perrin have graduated, Paul. I can think of three ECAC teams off the top of my head that should finish ahead of UVM. Clarkson, RPI, who lost *no*one* to graduation, and Cornell, who aren't losing too much (although defense could be a problem). Heck, I'd pick even Union to beat out the Cats this year.
