POINTER HOCKEY DENIED NCAA III BID
 
Stevens Point, WI - The pointer of UW-Stevens Point were denied a bid to
the NCAA Division III Playoffs this season in the brackets announced on
Sunday Night.
 
Point, the #4 team in the West, was knocked out by the #5 team from the
East Region, Elmira College.
 
The Playoffs begins on March 14 at four different sites with those
series winners advancing to the NCAA Division III Final Fout on March
21-22 at a site that is to be determined after the quarterfinals.
 
The lineups for the Quarterfinals look like this:
 
Plattburgh State (#1 East) hosts Norwich College (#4 East)
 
UW-Superior (#2 West) hosts St. Norbert College (#3 West)
 
St. John's University (#1 West) hosts Elmira College (#5 East)
 
Middlebury College (#2 East) hosts Rochester Institute of Technology (#3
East)
 
The Winners of Plattsburgh-Norwich and Superior-St. Norbert will meet in
one National Semifinal on March 21.  The winner of St. John's-Elmira and
Middlebury-RIT will me int he other semifinal.  The National
Championship will be played on Saturday night, March 22.
