It probably wasn't helped by the early game going 3 overtimes in
1995 and 2 overtimes with additional ice-related delays in 1996.
Both times, I was extremely rushed to fit in leaving the arena,
finding dinner, and getting back for the start of the second game
(or, last year, get back by the when we thought the second game
     was going to start).

I wouldn't put it past espn moving the start time so it doesn't
interfere with cattle ranching or a basketball pep rally, but I
doubt they will gain any viewers by having it on at noon instead
     of 2:00.

Just 2 cents worth. Personally, I also would prefer the later
start time to allow for Thursday morning travel (we are leaving
by car at 6 am to arrive in time for the CC/ND game).

Whatever happened to the 2:00 p.m. start for the first semifinal game?
Probably a TV-driven decision.
