>>> Ken Pavelle <[log in to unmask]> 03/25/97 12:08pm >>> I actually got to watch both games...on MSC! The DSS feed was blocked. The big dish was weird....it was blacked out for the second half of every hour. But the bar-owner was a really cool guy who knew some tricks. He sat us right by the satellite control, and every time it blacked out, we changed the channel, and then brought it back up. Each time, it took 2-3 minutes (or longer) for the blackout to return. == Neat trick with MSC if you are not a "subscriber" and you have a C-Band dish. When the box comes up describing the program, hit the volume button to remove the box, then you don't get the "subscriobe to Programmers Clearing house" message. If you do get it, hit VIEW and then repeat the above steps. <SNIP> In the Cornell-UND game there was a North Dakota goal that was waved off. Apparantly, the puck was hit in with the top of the stick, not the blade. Can someone clarify the rules regarding this? == Any goal scored by touching a stick with ANY part above the crossbar is a "high stick" and the goal shall be disallowed. That is the rule book interpretation. in practice, you'll only see the wave off if the puck strikes a stick above the crossbar.
