My original message, replied to by Ian Wilson of the Bruins list: Can someone tell me why Jean-Yves Roy is not kept up with the Bruins ? I was at the game on Saturday and his work in staying with the puck, and looking to spark the offense was exceptional. His skills with the puck certainly equal Elik and some of the other offensive deadwood staying up with the big club, and he is one of the fastest skaters on the B's. The Globe said it right, they got away from the trap defence, and it allows a "free agent" type of offensive-minded like J-Y Roy to work in the open ice. He set up Ray on the pass for the GWG vs. Stars, and was instrumental in setting up the OT goal by Oates earlier in the year. What is so bad about this ? He can put it on the stick when passing, instead of having to make the recipient get it off his skates to set up a shot or pass. Has anyone else noticed how often Bruins passes end up on backhand sides of the recipient, instead of on the stick, on the forehand ? Go Blue
