Who are the hosts of the regionals this year? Is it BU in the
East (Worcester) and Michigan in the West (Grand Rapids)? I just
glanced at the PWR ratings on
<http://www.uscollegehockey.com/pwr/pwr.cgi> and noticed that BU is
currently 11th, fifth among the six eastern teams in the top 12.
Ordinarily that sort of ranking would send them to the West Regional,
but since they're hosting the Eastern one, they'd stay put, with the
fourth-ranked Eastern team being sent out west. What is the fourth
ranked Eastern team right now? Cornell (#9 overall). Well, turnabout
is fair play...
(Of course these mid-season rankings are a poor indicator of
how things will wind up in the end, but it'd certainly by ironic if
something like this ended up happening.)
