In his five years at Lowell, this is how the Lowell-Maine matchups worked out: 91-92: (Lowell is a weak 11-19-4 team) Lowell goes 0-4 against Maine 92-93: (Lowell is 20-17-2) Lowell goes 0-4 93-94: (Lowell is 25-10-5, goes to NCAA's) Lowell goes 1-0-2 94-95: (Lowell is 17-19-4) They go 1-3 against Maine 95-96: (Lowell is 26-10-4 NCAA's) Lowell goes 1-2-1 The first two years can probably be dismissed because Lowell was weak the first year and no one was going to beat Maine the second year. Even looking at the remaining three years, during which Lowell made the NCAA quarterfinal two of the three, the River Hawks still had a losing record against the Black Bears. I think most teams know the systems employed by league opponents well enough that things like Crowder's time at Maine really make only a subtle difference, if that. ----------------------------------------------- Dave Hendrickson [log in to unmask] Hockey East writer for US College Hockey Online http://www.uscollegehockey.com
