I listened to both games, and had family at both games. So those are the
sources of my observations.

Wisconsin didn't come to play Saturday afternoon. Although the penalties and
power plays were one sided, (2 5x3's in one period? in a non chippy game?)
the Badgers got whipped and deserved to.

Sunday afternoon's game was a different story, but with the same first and
last chapter. Wisconsin came to play this game, jumped out to a quick 1-0
lead on a goal by freshman T.R. Moreau

C.C. then scored 4 unanswered goals, one of whick was a short-handed tally,
to finish out the first period.

The Badgers rallied for 2 goals (Siren, Haley) in the second to pull within a
goal. The 3rd period was very exciting, but CC's Eric Rud scored a PP goal
with less that 4 minutes remaining. Wisconsin got a PP goal by Moreau (his
2nd of the night) to pull within one goal, but were unable to send the game
into overtime.

NOTES: The Badger freshman are very good. And the junior class is getting
the job done overall. Kirk Daubenspeck didn't have a very good weekend.
Granted he didn't get a lot of help, from his team, or the ref's either. And
it seems that there is some animosity building up between Wisconsin and C.C.

The Badgers fall to 5-5, good for 5th place in the W.C.H.A. The tough part
of Wisconsin's schedule will be over in a month. Next weekend,
Minnesota-Duluth comes to Madison for a Friday/Saturday series. Thanksgiving
weekend features the College Hockey Showcase, and then UW goes up to
Anchorage before the semester/christmas break.

Over that period, Wisconsin should go 3-1 vs. the league, and hopefully beat
one of the Michigan teams. So, after getting the road trips to Colorado and
Alaska over with early, the schedule works in Wisconsin's favor the rest of
the season, just in time for the Badgers annual 2nd half surge!
