MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ University of Minnesota hockey coach Doug Woog and an
assistant coach deceived school officials and took other steps to conceal
Woog's payment of $500 to a player in 1994, a published report said.
In a copyright story in Sunday's editions, the Star Tribune also
reported that high-ranking athletic department officials ignored ``strong
signals'' they received of a possible violation in the program soon after
the payment.
