SLU dropped its third straight game tonight by the final score of 6-3...the
game was much close than the score shows with one empty netter being scored
and also a very late goal by LSSU...SLU was very sloppy in the first period
giving LSSU many wide-open shots and unchallenged plays and fell behind 2-0
after the first...after the second the game was 4-2....SLU played an
excellent second and third period....closing the gap to 4-3...but could never
seem to get that final tieing goal...LSSU pulled away with the final 2 goal
flurish...Grahame was very shaky in net for LSSU, but remained mainly
untested throughout, SLU's first and second lines again refused to play;),
but SLU's third and fourth lines were clearly dominant throughout the
game...In goal for SLU, John Bracco had probably the worst showing of his SLU
career...allowing 3 completely pathetic goals which were not tipped or
blocked by anyone...he was pulled after just under half the game and after
that point SLU really calmed down and got into a nice rhythm of
play...Sophomore walk-on Eric Heffler played in Bracco's stead and was
phenomenal...allowing only one very late goal on a questionable LSSU
play...the team really rallied around his performance...We are all hoping
that Heffler will start tomorrow night's game against Miami...he has allowed
1 goal in the three games he has played and has seemed solid in all of
them...Tonight Bracco never gave the team a chance to shine, and the game was
over before it even started, unfortunately...LSSU looked very strong...they
were fast and skillful and should be a pretty good match for UVM Saturday
night...
