In other words, they're absurd! (Of course, they're only polls) The top three are reasonable (if not perfect), but what happens soon after that is ridiculous. What the heck are Minnesota and Colorada still doing in the top 8. They've each lost 3 of 6 games ... to the likes of Wisconsin and Minn.-Duluth ... and badly! CC can't sweep St. Cloud? They didn't start the season much higher than they are now! What will it take to get them out of the top ten ... a 3-6 record??? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm afraid I'm going to have to take issue with the "likes of Wisconsin.." statement. Although Wisconsin had a bad year last year, this years team is a very good squad, certainly better than the 8th place prediction in the coaches poll. Wisconsin has beaten teams that were "supposed" to be superior. An 8th place team won't go out to Denver and slap them 8-3 in their own rink. Wisconsin's one bad year shouldn't relegate them to the dregs of college hockey. What you said about the polls, however, is right on. By the pollsters theory, Wisconsin should be in the top 10. At 3 and 3, they are just as good as Minnesota. Although, I will wait a few more weeks before I decide whether I think Wisconsin is a top 10 team, when I cast my vote in the only poll that counts, the Hockey-L poll! Thanks and take care, Terry E.
