Oh, God, here we go again.  I hate to break it to you, but auto racing is
a gazzilion times more popular than college hockey, even the NHL for that
matter.  It is also considered the fastest growing business in America today.
There are 100's of millions of dollars being spent on new race tracks popping
up all over the place -- Fontana, CA, Las Vegas, Fort Worth, Pikes Peak,
perhaps Chicago, East St. Louis, the list keeps going.
 
NASCAR racing garners the highest average ratings on ESPN than *any other
sport they carry* except for NFL football.  More than the NHL, college
basketball, college football, and certainly college hockey.  The fastest
growing cable station today is Speedvision, a *24-hour* network completely
devoted to *motorsports*.  Until college hockey gets those kinds of numbers,
you're just pissing in the wind.
