Perhaps Arthur is a bit too quick to criticize. I just watched the replay of MSC's broadcast of the game. The comments that Arthur finds so objectionable were made by Tom Reid, Frank Mazzocco's broadcast partner. Tom Reid is a native of Canada. The charge of "nationalism" seems inappropriate. >I'm not seeking to have the last word on this (and who would give it to me >:-)) but there are plenty of discussions about the Minnesota obsession >with native players defined even more narrowly than nationality in the >archives. > >I know Frank Mazzoco reads this list and he is a good announcer, but I was >disappointed in what I hope were ill thought out off the cuff comments. I think that Arthur owes Frank an apology. -- Erik HOCKEY-L is for discussion of college ice hockey; send information to [log in to unmask], The College Hockey Information List.
