For what it's worth, The Burlington (Vermont) Free Press
reported the ECAC Coaches Poll yesterday. Unfortunately,
I forgot to bring it with me today, but this is the way
it goes according to my memory. First place votes in
parenthesis:

1. Vermont (11)
2. Clarkson
3. Harvard (1)
4. St. Lawrence
5. Colgate
6. Cornell
7. RPI
8. Brown*
9. Princeton*
10. Dartmouth*
11. Union
12. Yale

* = not sure about these, but they were 8, 9, and 10.

Vermont coach Mike Gilligan gave his first place vote to
Harvard, saying that there were several teams who could
be "right in there." Personally, I attribute his vote
either to false modesty or superstition. The other
point total of note is that Yale collected only 16
points (12 for first, 11 for second, etc), meaning at
least 8 coaches voted them in last place. Ouch.
