A friend of mine has a son beginning his junior year in high school. He (the son) plays youth hockey here in the Dayton area and is one of the better players in his league. He is interested in starting to send out feelers for a possible athletic scholarship. Which schools offer hockey scholarships? When his dad asked me that question (because I'm the rabid college hockey fan), my best guess was "probably most of the D-1 schools, except for the service academies, the Ivy Leaguers, and the Independents". Did I guess right? What about the D-2 schools? I think by definition, D-3 is without scholarships. Any feedback is appreciated. Please E-mail me privately; if you read this and want to know the result, I'll send you E-mail, or post it if there is a real ground-swell of curiosity.
