snip, snip ----- Maine hockey coach Shawn Walsh, was *not* found to be in violation of NCAA ethical conduct codes and hence as far as the NCAA is concerned will be allowed to return to Maine on Decemeber 24, 1996. snip, snip ----- is anyone else on the list baffled by this one? i seem to remember hearing something about walsh accepting cash from a booster club and then having three different reasons for doing so. i also seem to remember hearing about him talking to one of the student athletes he had specifically been told to stay away from. hmmm... it seems wrong that the coach involved with the violations can get off without any substantial penalty. i can see where a one-year suspension to coach walsh might be considered a substantial penalty, but he could go elsewhere and not have to sit out, no?
