What seemed liked it was going to be another year in the middle of the
CCHA, we lost another player. Sophomore winger Charlie Smith announced
that after 6 concussions (two last year) that he would follow his
doctor's advise and quit hockey. Though he only scored 1 goal and 6
assists last year, it was hoped he would live up to his potential
before he graduated. As you may remember, he was a top 15 prospect two
years ago according to Red Line Reports. Fortunately, he keeps his
scholorship so that he can continue his education. I'm still waiting
to hear who will take his place as a scholorship player. I'll let you
know when I find out.
