My apologies for the non-collegiate thread, but I mistakenly started this... I haven't been following the story very closely, but my naive understanding is that Jeff Jackson and some of his staff would have offices in SE Michigan. I believe this will have very little effect on the activities at Colorado Springs. I *assume* that players invited to the WJC camp and such would now report to the SE Michigan facility. (For example, I believe the 1995 WJC camp was in Lake Placid NY.) Also, the Ann Arbor location being considered is not Yost Arena...home of the Michigan Wolverines...it is the AA Ice Cube, a relatively new three rink (one Olympic size, two NHL size) complex in town. The Cube offers many positives, with the major negative being insufficient spectator seating (currently about 800) if any Team USA games were to be held at the SE Michigan site. (Another major negative of the Cube is that they only allow one puck on their air hockey tables at a time, but that's another story. :-) Since this isn't Hockey-L related material, I suggest than anyone wishing to follow this thread keep an eye on the following web sites: USA Hockey (http://www.inovatec.com/usahock/) USA TODAY Sports (http://web.usatoday.com/sports/sfront.htm) John H ([log in to unmask]) HOCKEY-L is for discussion of college ice hockey; send information to [log in to unmask], The College Hockey Information List.
