There are two possible reasons for Mike Guentzel withdrawing his name from consideration for the Nebraska-Omaha post. The first is simply that he's become attached to Minnesota and hopes to be the head of that program in a few years by staying and solidifying his position. I would say that this would be a very likely possibility, except that the Wooger isn't that old and doesn't show any signs of going anywhere. How long is Guentzel prepared to wait, and is there something about Woog's situation that hasn't even been rumored? Or is being an assisstant in Gopherland THAT attractive? The other possibility that I can think of is that Guentzel decided that UNO wasn't as serious as they've said. This is the direction I'm inclined to believe, but then it fits my preconceived notions. I've been saying for awhile that I don't think a program in Omaha is going to be successful. Perhaos Mike Guentzel decided the same thing. J.
