Larry Wientraub wrote that he was looking forward to possibly seeing the Red and the Red Raiders play 3 times next January, a situation I would hope does not happen, especially if that first game is in the consilation game of the tourney. About 5 years ago, this same senario did occur, and that consilation game was one of the ugliest games I ever saw. It was a penalty fest that featured two teams that played like they wanted to be anywhere else that was more fun, like the dentist or an IRS audit. And such a game could lead to players being excused from the next game, which would be the dreaded North Country trip where noone wants to be shorthanded. As for Cornell's strength of schedule next year, it may not be that different from this year on the whole, if you compare 1995-96 1996-97 @Army Army @UMA Merrimack UMA Colgate/Providence @BU @Michigan CC Ferris USAFA Ferris @MSU Miami It could be argued that the teams the Red play are more near the middle than the two extremes of last year. Michigan and BU are certainly similar, as are Mass and Merrimack. CC is better than Ferris, but Ferris tops the Falcons (usually), so this seems to be an equally challenging plan as last year's was. Of course only time will tell. William Sangrey Cornell '87&'94 Let's Go RED!!!
