There are rumblings that Mike Crowley, the record setting defenseman, is
being persued by Anaheim's Mighty Ducks. Week after week Crowley was
consistently the best player for the Gophers, and probably all of college
hockey, last season. Eric Rasmussen will be taken in the first round of
this summer's NHL Draft. This might be enough enticement for Rasmussen to
go pro. He has the size, strength and talent to be in the NHL next year.
He had a very successful freshman season, seemingly improving every week.
He possesses very strong overall hockey skills, and could easily adjust to
the NHL.

If Crowley and Rasmussen decide to sign, along with Bonin and Trebil, there
would be four Gophers from last years team in pro hockey. Interestingly
enough, of the four, Bonin would have the most difficult time making it to
the NHL. This is not a reflection of his talent, but historically small,
non physical centers have difficulty convincing coaches of their worth.

If the two underclassmen sign, the Gopher team will look drastically
different.
