Just a note on how the players are feeling: Three years ago I was to attend (and still did) St. Bonaventure Univ to play D-III hockey. As my luck would have it, I got a call on April 27th for the coach informing me that the program had be "Re-Classified" as a club team and would no longer be funded by the Univ. He told me that he was sorry to let me know but he just found out about it the day, before, or so I was told. He said there would be a club team next season although in my first weeks I found out differently. What this basically gave the "incoming" freshman was about three days to find another school(before the usaul May 1 cut off for fees, etc) to play at or risk not playing at all. I later found out that I was one of the only recruits to be notified of the change in the program, the rest were quite angry come Sept 1. My heart goes out to the players and famalies from UIC and I wish them the best in finding another team to skate for in the fall. NAthan Bennett St. Bonaventure Hockey It maybe a club team but its a start in the right direction HOCKEY-L is for discussion of college ice hockey; send information to [log in to unmask], The College Hockey Information List.
