According to a story by Ken Schott in this morning's Daily Gazette,
Union College senior Reid Simonton has signed a tryout contract with
the Richmond Renegades of the East Coast Hockey League. He is
expected to play tonight in Richmond's game at South Carolina.
Simonton is expected to join the Cornwall Aces of the American Hockey
League (affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche) after three games with
Richmond. Simonton is property of the Avalanche having been drafted
by the Nordiques in 1994.

Simonton had 9 goals and 19 points for Union this season. He is
Union's all-time team leader in penalty minutes with 325 (which should
come in handy in the AHL!).
