All,

According to today's Chicago Tribune sports section - front page, the
announcement was made yesterday at ~4pm. The authors interviewed junior center;
Alan Dunbar who commented, "If it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, it's
a rat" - in regards to the circumstances of Collins hiring. The Vice-Chancellor
of Student Affairs added "they (the players) could have been left high and
dry". WHO THE HELL IS HE CRAPPING????? The authors also interviewed a parent
who, a couple of weeks ago, was assured by the Interim AD that, "the program is
safe". It seems that the Collins "window of opportunity" was what the hockey
program and Bob Hallberg were pushed out of! Finally, the AD confirmed that
they had interviewed someone for the vacant coaching position; this definately
indicates that they planned to go forward - until Collins became "available".

With contempt for UIC,
Paul
